Aug 23 – Sept 1: our trucks roll through the City of Hartford delivering backpacks and school supplies to every family that reaches out. Need a backpack? We come to you.

The Story

This drive was created by Niasia, a Hartford youth leader with a simple idea: no kid should start school without a backpack. When the original host organizations had to step back at the last minute, EDS Training LLC — a local veteran-owned safety company — stepped up so her idea wouldn't die on the calendar.

And we're doing it Army style: backpacks on wheels. Our trucks will run supplies through Hartford neighborhoods so the kids who can't get to a drive still get their gear. Follow the mission in photos on our social media.

Before You Give — Full Transparency

EDS Training LLC is a veteran-owned, FOR-PROFIT company that took on hosting this drive last-minute. Contributions are not tax-deductible charitable donations.

Where your money goes:

First: backpacks & school supplies for Hartford students
Fuel for the delivery vehicles running routes across the city
Food & water for event-day volunteers
Support for EDS Training's event operations, including staff time — because we're a small business donating our trucks, our people, and our day

When the drive ends, we post a full public accounting: total received, total spent, backpacks delivered. Every dollar, in the open.
