Equip · Defend · Survive
EDS Training gives schools, businesses, churches, and families the knowledge and the practice to respond when it matters. Day 1 you learn it. Day 2 you live it.
The EDS Difference
Most organizations don't think about safety until something goes wrong.
EDS Training changes that.
We don't sell alarm. We don't market fear. We build organizations that carry themselves differently — because their people have actually practiced what to do.
Training Programs
Every EDS program is built for real organizations with real people — not checkboxes. Choose your entry point or let us build a custom plan.
Two-day model — classroom knowledge on Day 1, live scenario drills on Day 2. Your team practices before the real thing.
OSHA-aligned workplace violence prevention, threat recognition, de-escalation, and emergency action planning.
Safety training that honors your culture of welcome while protecting your congregation. Built for faith communities.
Practical security briefings for families, travel planning, home safety, and situational awareness training for everyday life.
State-certified CT pistol permit training. Small class sizes. Live fire qualification included. Weekends available.
Life-saving hemorrhage control training. Tourniquets, wound packing, direct pressure — hands-on certification.
The Two-Day Model
Most safety trainers spend a day on slides and leave. EDS Training doesn't. Day 2 is where the real change happens.
Why It Works
Stress inoculation isn't a military concept — it's a human one.
When the brain hasn't experienced a situation before — even in practice — it freezes. That freeze costs time. Time costs lives.
The two-day model creates a mental reference point. When something happens, your team doesn't think "what do I do?" — they think "I've done this."
How We Work
We start with your organization — your building, your people, your current plan. Every engagement begins with understanding your real situation.
No off-the-shelf curriculum. Every training is adapted to your environment, your culture, and your specific vulnerabilities.
Day 1 builds knowledge. Day 2 tests it with live scenarios. Your team leaves with experience, not just awareness.
You receive a written safety assessment, gap analysis, and priority action items. Concrete next steps, not vague takeaways.
What Organizations Say
The two-day format completely changed how our staff thinks about safety. Day 1 was eye-opening. Day 2 was transformational. Our team left with actual confidence — not just a certificate.
Joshua doesn't do fear. He does preparation. Our church leadership finally has a safety plan we believe in — one that fits who we are as a community, not a military drill manual.
Every HR director should experience this training. It's OSHA-aligned, professionally delivered, and our staff actually retained it. We've already booked our annual follow-up.
Ready to Get Started?
No commitment. No pressure. A 20-minute conversation to understand your needs and tell you honestly what we'd recommend.
About EDS Training
EDS Training was founded on one belief: the best time to prepare is before the emergency happens. That's not a slogan. It's how our founder has operated his entire professional life.
Joshua Peterson spent years in environments where preparation was survival. As an 11B Infantry Staff Sergeant with multiple combat deployments to Afghanistan, he learned firsthand that the difference between those who come through difficult situations and those who don't comes down to one thing: who prepared before the moment arrived.
After the military, he brought that same discipline into executive protection, firearms instruction, and youth development — eventually leading programs at the director level, building curricula, developing young leaders, and working inside the nonprofit and community organizations that now form EDS Training's core client base.
He has stood at the intersection of danger and community his entire professional life. EDS Training is the result: military-caliber preparation delivered with community-centered purpose, for the organizations and families that need it most.
EDS Training is not a corporate safety company that contracted out a trainer. It is one person's lifetime of real-world experience — brought into your building, your conference room, and your parking lot.
What We Stand For
The goal is never to respond to an emergency perfectly. The goal is to build organizations that never have to improvise.
We do not market alarm. People who complete EDS training don't walk away scared. They walk away capable.
Knowledge without practice is memory. Practice under pressure is instinct. That's the difference between Day 1 and Day 2.
Every school, church, and nonprofit we train is a stronger community. That outcome matters more than any contract.
We will tell you what your organization needs — even if it's not what you expected. No inflating scope. No minimizing gaps.
Safety is not political. EDS Training never has been and never will be. Every client, every community, every belief system is welcome here.
